Why 1908 Cronulla?
Coastal Dining
At the turn of the XXth century, the Illawara train line revived the remote seaside gem of Cronulla & put it on the map. Surrounded by glittering waters & magnificent sand dunes, Cronulla started to attract settlers, beach lovers & Sydney-siders.
A Methodist church was erected circa 1908, where the restaurant now stands.
It went on to be the Shire library in the 1970’s, The Old Library Restaurant in 2011 & 1908 Cronulla Social Restaurant & Cocktail Bar in December 2015.
Reflecting its proximity to the sea, 1908 Cronulla prides itself on coastal cuisines embracing the flavours of the ocean worldwide.
Influenced by ingredients & spices from the Caribbean, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Italy, India, Thailand, Polynesia & Australia, our talented and creative kitchen team has composed a cuisine with a focus on fresh local produce.
